New edition of ATL Internals book

ATL Internals cover imageEvery programmer using ATL and WTL knows that ATL Internals is a must-read book providing comprehensive background information about ATL.

ATL is my favourite library to use as a base for Windows development. It helps to solve wide variety of problems, on both sides: client and server, especially strongly simplifies creation of COM components. ATL-based binaries are very small and robust. ATL is also an underlaying layer for WTL which is a GUI toolkit, light-weight and modern alternative to MFC.

Save formatted data into std::string

Following short C++ snippet presents how to format number using string stream and save it to std::string object. It is an equivalent to the sprintf function from C library.

I’m not a politics fun at all and when I launched this website I decided to not to talk about politics here. However yet, I can’t abstain from post something funny, or may be sad. You will judge if you want.

Today, I read in one of polish newspaper about Iran’s President started his own blog a few days ago. Here is the blog address http://www.ahmadinejad.ir. So, I decided to see what he is writing there about. I have to say, it’s professionally designed and, as I suppose, it uses nice AJAX stuff.

New Ubuntu logo ,-)

Ubuntu LinuxWhile ago I was trying to find some nice Ubuntu logo I could put on my website. I opened Google and submitted it with following query: +ubuntu +logo. At the third position of results I saw quite encouraging title:

New Ubuntu logo on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

It wasn’t what I expected, but nice.

Heh…just go and watch it yourself :-)
