GIS GigaCon IconOn 16th February 2006, in Warsaw, will take place one-day conference devoted to latest solutions in GIS and Geoinformatics. It’s one of the biggest GIS event in Poland. Writing DWG/DXF files with OGR

GDAL IconToday, Frank Warmerdam announced about new OGR writing driver for DWG and DXF files. Here is what Frank sent on the gdal-dev@lists.maptools.org:

With the support of OSGIS and the Dutch Directorate for Public
Works and Water Management, Rijkswaterstaat, Adviesdienst
Geo-informatie en ICT (RWS AGI), I have implemented an
OGR driver for writing DXF and DWG files.

QGIS Community has announced the contests for new name of the next QGIS release.

Hurry up and Name the Next QGIS Version!

Previous versions were named after developer’s pets now. If you are courious about what pets own QGIS developers take a look at this table. It was funny indeed but QGIS Team decided to change it now to get more interesting and unique names for next versions. So, we need you help!

There are 29 names so far. I vote for my own proposal Spatially Adjusted which I’ve stolen from James Fee’s blog. James I hope you are not angry with me, it’s just for fun ;-)
