New mapping books are on my bookshelf

Saturday, November 19th, 2005

Yesterday, I collected books ordered on Amazon. Couple of weeks ago I wrote in my First order on Amazon.com post that I was affraid about the estimated delivery time - middle of the December, 2005. I’m really surprised the delivery took only about 20 days. Good for Amazon! Now I’m sure these are not my last books I ordered on Amazon.

By the way, I want to thank Tyler Mitchell for his recommendation to buy Mapping Hacks. After first look it seems to be great resource for mapping hackers and I’m sure I’ll love it. Thanks Tyler!

Prosiaczek odpalił swój blog

Friday, November 11th, 2005

Parę dni temu moja Ĺźonka Panterka przyniosła do domciu prosiaczka, czyli świnke morkską. Takie małe, kudłate, a raczej poczochrane jakby miało starcie z piorunem albo linią wysokiego napięcia :-) No i zamieszkał ten kudłacz z nami. Jak sie nazywa? Hm, no i tu jest problem, bo nie wpadliśmy jeszcze na jakieś pasujące do niego - ups, to ona - więc pasujące do niej imię. No to moĹźe…ogłaszam konkurs na imię dla kudłacza.

Wednesday, November 9th, 2005

VerySpatial.com LogoRecently, I announced GIS Bloggers Map. Today, I’d like to announce another GIS users map on the Frappr!.

Sue & Jesse from the VerySpatial.com vortal and blog have launched VerySpatial users map on the Frappr!.Great! Go on, add yourself and have fun!

By the way, GIS Bloggers Map is growing with more users. Today, we have 8 users [applause] :-). There is only one problem with Frappr! engine, it works a bit buggy when you put URL in the Shoutout field. URLs are displayed incorrectly in the mug box appearing on the map after you click on the member link to get his location. I wrote to the Frappr! guys and I’m sure they will fix it. Thanks Frappr’ers!

Jesteś prawie średnio szary

Tuesday, November 8th, 2005

No kruca fuks ładnie, no pięknie jak jasna…taki klops na początek dnia! Nikt mnie nie lubi :-(

Wynik: 65 % w skali cyprysa

Polish language pack for ArcGIS 9.1

Friday, November 4th, 2005

ESRI Polska announces about polish langauge pack to the ArcGIS 9.1. How nice! Particularly, ArcGIS 9.1 is very expansive software and I think all its polish users has to fall to their knees with thanksgiving prayers for this localization. ESRI seems to be very serious company but they have big problems with providing polish manuals or books about their software on polish market for years. Well, may be ESRI should follow Open Source Software example as usually well translated and well documented in many languages.
